Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2023

Gujarat picked a comprehensive victory over Kolkata in the first match on Saturday. The second game saw Hyderabad defeat Delhi in a close game. Now, Gujarat is at the top, while Delhi stays at the bottom of the points table. Keep reading to check the match happenings and market changes.

 

Match 39: Kolkata vs. Gujarat

 

Gujarat 180 for 3 (Shankar 51, Noor 2/21) beat Kolkata 179 for 7 (Gurbaz 81, Russell 34 & 1/29(16.24%)) by 7 wickets.

 

Gujarat won the toss and put Kolkata into batting first. Narayan Jagadeesan fell early after scoring 19. Shardul Thakur(↓33.84%) was sent in at #3 to play some shots, but he fell for a 4-ball duck. The next 3 batters, Venkatesh Iyer(↓11.74%), Nitish Rana(↓16.03%), and Rinku Singh(↓9.97%), also failed to impress. Only one man dominated the innings in the first 15 overs, and it was Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The Afghan hammered 81 runs in just 39 balls, along with 5 fours and 7 sixes. Andre Russell’s(16.24%) cameo of 34(19) took Kolkata to 179 for 7.

The chase didn’t start well as Wriddhiman Saha was removed for a run-a-ball 10. Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya formed a 50-run partnership before getting dismissed for 49(35) and 26(20). These couple of wickets brought Kolkata back into the game. Gujarat required 87 more runs in 52 balls. Vijay Shankar and David Miller(11.08%) combined for a match-winning partnership to give Gujarat a 7-wicket victory. Miller made 32*(18) while Shankar smashed 51* off 24.

 

Match 40: Delhi vs. Hyderabad

 

Hyderabad 197 for 6 (Abhishek 67, Makrande 2/20) beat Delhi 188 for 6 (Marsh 63, Axar 29* & 1/29(↑16.37%)) by 9 runs.

 

After opting to bat first, Hyderabad lost Mayank Agarwal(↓27.77%) in the 3rd over. Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Makram also departed cheaply. Harry Brook(↓22.84%) had another bad day as he departed for a two-ball duck. Abhishek Sharma was the lone warrior for the batting side with a high-quality innings of 67(36). Heinrich Klaasen scored 53* off 27 to give his team a good finish. Abdul Samad and Akeal Hosein contributed with 28(21) and 16*(10), as Hyderabad posted 197 for 6.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar(↓36.77%) removed David Warner(↓17.41%) for a two-ball duck in the opening over of the chase. Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh then produced a 112-run partnership to put Delhi in the driving seat. At that stage, 86 off 53 with 9 wickets in hand. But the next 12 balls brought 3 wickets as Salt and Marsh departed for 59(35) and 63(39), respectively. Soon, the Capitals were reduced to 148 for 6 with just 19 balls left in the innings. Axar Patel(↑16.37%) hit 29* off 14 to keep the game alive, but Delhi fell short by 7 runs.

Market Update

 

Axar Patel(↑16.37%) had his price gonr up by ₹31.41. Following him, Andre Russell’s(16.24%) and David Miller’s(11.08%) price also appreciated by ₹15.43 and ₹16.68, respectively. On the other hand, Umran Malik‘s(↓60.98%) stocks depreciated by ₹35.99. Varun Chakravarthy’s(↓43.75%) price also went down by ₹36.07. While, Rashid Khan(↓37.35%) had his stocks dropped by ₹53.7.
