Rajasthan won the toss and opted to bat first in Jaipur. The openers dominated the opposition’s bowlers by bringing up an 86-run opening partnership in 50 balls. Jos Buttler(↑2.46%) was dismissed for 27 off 21, while Yashashvi Jaiswal(40.47%) played a match-defining innings of 77(43). The batting side lost some momentum in the middle phase and slipped to 146 for 4 in the 17th over. Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal changed things around with a 48-run stand in 20 balls. Jurel smashed 34 off 15, while Padikkal hit 27 off 13. Rajasthan finished with 202 for 5 on the board.

Devon Conway’s struggling innings of 8(16) resulted in an ordinary powerplay for Chennai. They were 42 for 1 when the field restrictions were lifted. Ajinkya Rahane also struggled to a 13-ball 15 before getting out. Ruturaj Gaikwad(14.15%) kept his side alive by smashing 47 off 29. But he and Ambati Rayudu fell in a space of 3 balls.

Chennai were 73 for 4 at that stage, needing 130 more in 56 deliveries. Shivam Dube(17.67%), Moeen Ali(18.47%), and Ravindra Jadeja(↑8.76%) tried to get close to the total. They scored 52(33), 23(12), and 23(15), respectively. All these efforts were in vain, as Chennai lost by 32 runs.

Yashashvi Jaiswal’s(40.47%) price increased by ₹69.39. Moeen Ali’s(18.47%) and Shivam Dube’s(17.67%) stocks also spiked by ₹19.17 and ₹35.8, respectively. Whereas, Jason Holder’s(↓66.18%) price knocked down by ₹29.35. Yuzvendra Chahal’s(↓10.14%) stocks also reduced by ₹11.8. While, Sanju Samson(↓5.05%) got his price dwindled by ₹8.7.
