Kolkata asked Chennai to bat first in the Eden Gardens. They started with a solid opening partnership of 73 runs in 7.3 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad(ā21.00%) was the first one to fall after scoring 35 off 20. Devon Conway’s fine innings of 56(40) also ended in the 13th over. At that point, Chennai were 109 for 2 with 47 balls left in the innings. Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube(ā43.55%) then combined for a destructive partnership of 85 runs that took only 32 deliveries.
