Pakistan’s Innings
- An Even Start
The two Pakistani openers, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq, stepped on the ground, eager to meet their fan’s expectations in this Ind vs Pak match. Taking their time getting familiar with the pitch conditions, the duo started slow. However, soon, they were able to form a 41-run partnership off 48 balls.
Unfortunately, Pakistan’s 1st wicket fell in the 8th over. Abdullah Shafique had to depart for 20 runs for an LBW by Mohammad Siraj. The Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam, joined Imam at the crease. They put together 32 more runs on the scoreboard.
In the 13th over, an edge resulted in an easy catch for KL Rahul and the departure of Imam. This led to Hardik Pandya bagging his 1st wicket in this high-intensity clash. The scoreboard for Pakistan read 73/2 after 13 overs.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma stepped onto the Ahmedabad ground with 192 runs to chase. However, in the 3rd over, an early loss for India came. Shaheen Afridi removed Shubman Gill for only 16 runs off 10 deliveries.
The Indian star, Virat Kohli, now joined his skipper at the crease. The two senior players were able to form a partnership of 56 runs off 42 balls.
