“Cometh the hour, cometh the man.” Such quotes only suit champions like Lasith Malinga, who always know how to rise to the occasion. It was the final of the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League, and MI were looking for their first IPL trophy. Thanks to an astonishing 32-ball 60 from Kieron Pollard, Mumbai were able to score 148 runs in their 20 overs. Chennai’s Michael Hussey was the top run-getter of the tournament.

Mumbai needed to see the back of him early, and the Sri Lankan produced the big blow in the first over of the chase. The fast bowler made it 2 in 2 by sending Suresh Raina back for a golden duck.
