The final game of the series in Hyderabad tested the nerves of both teams. The Indian team was just able to get their nose in front in a tight game.

India Was Hit by a Green Storm in the First 5 Overs

 

Cam Green came out with all guns blazing as he smashed Bhuvi’s first 3 deliveries for 2, 6, and 4. He kept smashing everything and took the score to 40 for none in just 3 overs. 

Finch fell in the 4th over, but Cam Green didn’t stop, and Australia ended the 4th over at 56 for 1. Green feel to Bhuvneshwar in the 5th over after playing an incredible knock of 52 runs in just 21 deliveries.

Green’s Wicket Brought India Back Into the Game

 

But once he got out, Indian bowlers wasted no time putting pressure on Australia. The last over of the powerplay saw Axar Patel bowl five successive dot balls to Maxwell before conceding a boundary on the last ball.

Australia ended the powerplay at 66 for 2. Maxwell then ran himself out in the 8th over to put Australia under an immense amount of pressure.

Chahal Spun a Web Around the Aussie Middle Order

 

From overs 7 to 12, Australia could get only 37 runs. 3 of those 6 overs were bowled by Chahal, and he conceded only 16 runs while taking the prized scalp of Smith.

The Aussie batsmen kept struggling till the 15th over as the scoreboard read 123 for 6. Chahal completed his 4 overs for 22 runs.

Tim David and Daniel Sams Go Big at the Death

 

Australians were in deep trouble at the end of 15 overs. But then Tim David started to smash the ball with supreme authority. They scored 56 runs in the next 4 overs.

Harshal Patel bowled an excellent last over to restrict Australia to 186 for 7 in 20 overs. Tim David thumped a 27-ball 54 with the help of 4 sixes.

Kohli kept India Afloat After the Openers Departed Early

 

The chase didn’t begin well for India as Rahul skied Sams behind the stumps in the first over of the innings. Kohli and Rohit took the aggressive route, and India got to 34 runs in the 4th over.

But, Rohit holed out to the deep square leg in the same over. Kohli kept going strong, and India finished the powerplay at 50 for 2.

SKY and VK Took Control

 

Once the powerplay was done, both batters played their shots freely. The following 7 overs went wicketless for the Aussies, and these two guys smacked 72 runs in them.

Surya was more aggressive in the partnership as he played a match-defining innings of 69 runs of just 36 balls at a fantastic strike rate of 191. His audacious knock ended in the 14th over as he fell to Hazelwood.

Pandya Finished Strong Yet Again

Indians needed only 44 runs in the last 5 overs as Cam Green bowled a fine over, giving away just 5 runs. Kohli reached yet another half-century in the same over.

The next 3 overs went for just 28 runs, and India was left to get 11 off the final over. Kohli smashed a 6 first ball but got caught at the extra cover on the next ball. The next 2 deliveries from Daniel Sams gave away only a single, and Pandya needed to score 4 of 2 to take India over the line.

He guided the ball to the 3rd man boundary on the penultimate delivery of the game. His 25* runs of just 16 balls helped India seal another tight win and a series victory.
