MI vs DC IPL 2023

The last 3 days in the Indian Premier League have produced plenty of thrillers. Tuesday produced another one of them as Mumbai edged Delhi in a final-ball thriller. Let’s see the match details and Sportiqo’s market variations.

Match 16: Delhi Capitals vs. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians 173 for 4 (Rohit 65(11.14%), Chawla 3/22) beat Delhi Capitals 172 all out (Axar 54 & 0/20(48.23%)), Warner 51(↓2.42%)) by 6 wickets.

Mumbai opted to bowl first as the coin fell in their favour. They got a decent start of 33 runs from their openers before Prithvi Shaw(↓4.81%) departed for 15(10). It was followed by a 43-run stand between David Warner(↓2.42%) and Manish Pandey. The latter was dismissed after scoring 26(18). The next 3 wickets also fell cheaply as DC were 98 for 5 after 12 and a half overs. David Warner(↓2.42%) was struggling to accelerate, and Axar Patel(48.23%) arrived at the crease.

He hammered 54 off just 25 to add some substance to the innings. Delhi were 165 for 5 at the end of the 18th over, eyeing a total of around 190. However, they lost the remaining 5 wickets in the next 10 balls and were bowled out for 172. David Warner(↓2.42%) produced another struggling innings of 51(47). Jason Behrendorff and Piyush Chawla picked 3 wickets apiece, while Riley Meredith snaffled 2 scalps.

In response, Rohit Sharma(11.14%) and Ishan Kishan(↓2.57%) stitched a 71-run stand in 7.3 overs. The left-hander scored 31(26) before getting dismissed.  Tilak Varma was promoted to #3, and he played a breezy knock of 41(29) to ease things for Mumbai. Only 26 runs were required off the last 26 balls, with 9 wickets in hand. But the next 7 balls brought just 4 runs and 3 wickets.

Rohit Sharma(11.14%) got out for a well-made 65 off 45. With 20 needed off the last 2 overs, Mustafizur conceded 15 in the penultimate over. Anrich Nortje gave just 2 runs in the first 4 balls of the final over. With 3 needed off 2, Cameron Green(2.80%) took a single. Tim David squeezed the last ball of the match to deep mid-off. David Warner(↓2.42%) wasn’t able to prevent the second run, and Mumbai got the victory.
